Work in Progress/March 2026
There has been a flurry of activity over the last few months; painting workshops, drawing groups, book clubs, and holidays. I posted the workshop painting ‘exercises’ on the Buildings, Variety and Landscapes pages. Below are the two painting exercises currently in progress
The landscape painting, The Artists View, is painted on a canvas board - so there is more texture to be seen.
The portrait painting is from a workshop I attended at the Art School of SF Bay. It is of my neighbor David (11x14). We used the old master's technique of starting with a black and white tonal foundation then applying multiple layers of thin glazes of color.
The block series, with a working title of Blue 1, is in progress, none of the images show are in a finished state at this time. I just added a sixth composition to symbolize my loss of all the others: Mother, Father, Brother and Family.
